I don't have the perfect answer for the sport and head injuries. But apologizing 24/7 about how mean the sport can be is just tiresome.
I agree with this. I think that if you are in a position where head injury is possible, one of the best things that can happen is that everyone gets paid millions of dollars to be there. I know a few people that work in full-compression diving working for oil companies, and almost all of those guys end up with job-related health issues and are compensated very well - although nowhere near as much as football players - in part because this job is very hazardous. Nobody really talks about that though :)
That's a good perspective for sure. It's definitely pretty interesting how people cherry pick certain things to fuss about.
