Sportstalk Curation Showcase #7

Hello and welcome to another edition of the Sportstalk Curation showcase where posts are highlighted letting the rest of the Hive blockchain know what they are missing out on. Lately there has been so much going on in the community with various competitions running creating so much banter. This is all part of the fun which is great to see.

All of these posts highlighted fall within the 7 day window of curation at the time of posting.

SURFING: Surfing in the rain - what exactly goes on in a surfer's brain?

@jasperdick is back with another surfing post however this time in the rain which makes no difference as you are going to get wet anyway. I suppose it is a bit like swimming when it is raining as it just makes the experience that much better for some reason. These posts kind of make me a little home sick as I was raised in the Cape and know this spot very well. From the surfers I know not much goes on in their brains besides checking how the swells are doing. At my last work place there was a 60 year old who was always nipping out for a quick surf so this will never change with how a surfer thinks.

Hive FPL - Game Week 2 Match Analysis & Key Stats

Great to see the Hive Fantasy Premier League @hivefpl being supported by many in the community plus some new faces appearing. This is what having new competitions are supposed to do and that is generate interest attracting new users to the blockchain. I think this season will throw up a lot of surprises as it has already and we have only had 2 rounds thus far. Good luck to those who have entered as this is not easy to select the right players.

Last Man Standing Week 2 , Results and Selections Open for Week 3

The other competition which is currently running is the Last Man Standing hosted by @blanchy. We have already seen so much carnage with 21 players being knocked out leaving the lucky 13. This contest doesn't normally last long as you do run out of bankers so you have to select your teams wisely. Will we make it to week 6 as 4 rounds is still along way off as it will start to get trickier within another 2 rounds. Still very good fun and whoever wins this will need quite a bit of luck on their side.

10 Years of Pain

I actually enjoyed this post as @mckane opened himself up to some cheap digs in the comments. I think comments can really add to a post and it is really great to see a post hit a home run with engagement. This is how you grow your following and one should take a leaf out of @mckane's book as he replies to everyone who comments. Funny how the obvious to some is not so obvious to others. This was an enjoyable read with the comments topping off a fun post.

Everyone's an Analyst

Those of you that follow @empress-eremmy know that her posts always have a decent topic and this is another case. Criticism by ex athletes on current athletes should be welcome as long as it is constructive and valid. I understand where @empress-eremmy is coming from with the latest Michael Johnson questioning Nigeria's Amusan Tobi's World record times. There has been so much talk about technology helping by using certain footwear which is still throwing doubt over performances similar to an athlete taking steroids. I do think you are innocent until proven guilty and one should rather choose their words wisely especially being a legend of the sport.

Some really interesting posts in this edition and great to see more and more users posting in the Sportstalk tribe of late. Until the next edition stay busy and keep posting.

Let's stay connected!
