Best result of career for American Sean Johnston at WRC Monte Carlo Rallye 2022

It is so nice to see American and Russian athletes have training together before some race. Yeah, in rallying this is very possible. I just watched the video of American rally driver Sean Johnston and in his series called 'Road to WRC' he speaks about every single step of how to be ready and maximum prepared for his WRC2 outings.

I already wrote about this vlog but today I found an amazing scenes where American Sean Johnston and his big rival Russian Nikolay Gryazin having training together in some camp in France. That's beautiful, if you ask me and the sport shouldn't divide people, just connecting. I hope that you agree with me.

Johnston had really great rally at Monte finishing 11th overall which is his best result ever in the World Rally Championship. He won the Rally4 category two years ago, again at Monte but that's smaller category where there's no that awful competition like it is in WRC2 class.

Johnston has to learn a lot, that's for sure because the best guy in the Rally2 category was Andreas Mikkelsen who finished again 7th overall in the Škoda Fabia Rally2 car which can't be compared with the new Raly1 class with cars with over 500bhp.

Czech Republic young star Eric Cais finished 9th overall and that same Russian Nikolay Gryazin was 10th overall, so he wasn't on the podium but 4th place in WRC2 is really top result if you ask me.

After some terrible crashes last season, Johnston can finally rebuild his confidence with this result and wait for another outing, which obviously won't be WRC Rally Sweden because I didn't see him at the entry list which organizer posted today.
