Blast from the past - WRC Rally Germany 2007

Hi, friends!

Despite that Sebastien Loeb won this event, man of the rally was definitely Francois Duval who even led after day one with the private Citroen Xsara WRC from the Belgium team Krosnos Racing while Loeb was again under the wing of Citroen works team who came back after a sabatical year 2006.

There were three works teams at that time - Citroen, Ford (fully works team ran by M-Sport) and Subaru. Citroen and Ford fought each other to the maximum while Subaru's Impreza WRC was kinda too big car for that time and there was some problem with the balance of the car because even 2003 champion Petter Solberg couldn't find the way to drive it 100%.

In this video you can find that an old Citroen Xsara WRC was almost quicker then their new model for that season C4 WRC. Yeah they took sabatical from some problems of the PSA group (Peugeot left the championship at the end of 2005) but also to develop that new C4 WRC which had some gremlin problems as every new rally car has.

I would like to add that performance of Škoda's private driver Jan Kopecky was brilliant. He finished 5th overall with the car which was never developed good but when all the cars lost electronic differentials at the end of season 2005, that was time when Škoda's negative sides were not that much.

Anyway watch and enjoy in this video despite French naration because it is just a pievc of rallying history worth of watching.
