BREAKING NEWS: Ex-Junior World Rally Champion Solans gets Hyundai WRC drive for WRC Catalunya Rally 2021

Hi, friends!

It's nothing new that Junior World Rally Champions gets a drive in a top WRC machinery before or later and if you ask me, that's fair because works seats should be occupied with talents and not with paying drivers.

I didn't follow this 29 years old Spanish driver but I always looked at his results at every European Rally Championship outing, which he was usual entrant. Because he wasn't at the top, I didn't look at him that much.

Now, after another youngster in the sport Pierre-Louis Loubet had stopped this year's program because of the accident in Paris when he got hit by a car when he was crossing the road, there was a chance for someone to step into his seat for the last two rounds of the World Rally Championship.

There is no publicly known if that is a commercial deal where Solans and the team behind him has to pay for a drive or guys from Hyundai wants to see if there is still a talent behind ex-JWRC champion. I would say that the first option is in game because 2C Competition is a private team and sometimes Hyundai satellite team for their Junior drivers but all those guys must bring sponsorship with them if they want to drive.

Nil Solans is co-driven by Marc Marti, ex-Carlos Sainz sr and Dani Sordo's codriver for years so that is good for Solans.

Maybe he will be additionally motivated in front of his home crowd and show why he won JWRC championship in 2017.

We have another JWRC champ from the last season Tom Kristensson who can't make a result with M-Sport prepared Ford Fiesta Rally2 and that can be less motivational.

Solans, this is your chance, show what are you made of...
