BREAKING NEWS: Katsuta withraws from WRC Rally Acropolis 2021

Hi, friends!

Japanese rising star and Toyota works driver Takamoto Katsuta had to withdraw
from the famous Greek World Rally Championship event called Acropolis Rally, the roughest European rally of the calendar.

What is the reason for this?
His replacement co-driver Keaton Williams had an emergency call from the England because some of his close relatives has some big emergency problems. That was enough for anybody to cancel the sport activities, even on the top level as WRC.

After a podium earlier in the year, Katsuta's luck went downwards after his regular co-driver Daniel Barritt sustained back problems after the heavy landing on some of the big jumps.

It's not an easy thing to change a co-driver. I know it very good after I had to put another co-driver in my right seat for out last event last weekend. Even he co-drove for me on the two rallies before, it wasn't easy to adapt to the new voice. But he is a great mechanic and he his help during the rally was vital for us. Without him we would have to retire from the rally with this problems. So I understand Katsuta very well.

At least he did the recce for the next rally. Toyota puts big effort to have a Japanese driver in the works team and for now he deserves every rally he did with the team.

I think that he needs his regular co-driver Dan Barritt to come back because with him he did his best results. He is the biggest prospect of this year, probably bigger then Adrien Fourmaux from M-Sport Ford.

Katsuta needs at least one more full season without putting too much pressure on him to develop his talent to the higher point because if he starts to make a silly mistakes because of the too much pressure, then it is wasted time anyway.

I think that guys from Toyota know this best so I don't see how he can go downwards in the longer term with his progress.
