Elfyn Evans did so much today for his career and his title boost after Seb Ogier almost had done business and 8th WRC title in his pocket. But things in sport and life change so quickly that one day you are on the top and following you are nowhere.

But things aren't finished for Ogier, he still has 24 points lead of Evans but this advantage was slashed from 44 to 24 in just one weekend. And we still have two rallies until end of season. Ogier is so strong in his head and also strong on the tarmac rallies which is the surface of two remained events in Catalunya and Monza.

Anything is still possible in the title race, let the best win - as always.

Back to WRC Rally Finland...
It is nothing new that Ogier doesn't like that much this super quick gravel rally. He won in Finland only once, in 2013 when he clinched his first WRC title. That was probably the reason why he left guys in front to fight for the win and he decided to take some points from the weekend. And he did good with 5th place overall which is quite good if you ask me.

The biggest battle whole weekend was between Ott Tanak and Elfyn Evans. Tanak drives Hyundai i20 WRC and Evans is in Toyota Yaris WRC. Toyota still has the faster and stronger car, if you ask me. This rally showed my theory correct because I know how hood Tanak is as a driver.

Hyundai is improving but it's just behind at the moment. It will be interesting which team will be in front next season with the hybrid evo cars.

Evans score string of fastest times including Power Stage win which brought him five more points. Tanak finished 2nd overall with 2nd place at the Power Stage. Craig Breen was leading after day one but later just lost something needed to fight for the win. I guess that 3rd place on the podium is good enough for his appetite.

Toyota returnee Esapekka Lappi finished 4th overall and this should be enough for him to secure works drive from Toyota next season.

Two M-Sport Ford drivers - Gus Greensmith and Adrien Fourmaux finished 6th and 7th and that's kinda cool for the team without testing ahead of the rally. They just need better budget and maybe drivers able to fight for the wins.

This was the last gravel rally for this generation of WRC cars. Next is tarmac on the table. Season finals could be very interesting.
