Ex-FIA director Yves Matton to become new Hyundai WRC team boss?!

Hi, friends!

Yves Matton used to be Citroen World Rally Team boss from the time when they won their last WRC title with Seb Loeb as a leading driver. They also won World Touring Var Championship titles with him as a team boss but after some time, he got an offer to become an FIA director for rallying.

That was the time when Jean Todt was FIA boss and he probably wanted somebody from the French speaking area beside him for rallying to become modernized sport in every way. That cooperation went well until Todt retired from that position just a week ago.

New FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is not satisfied with the number of works teams in the World Rally Championship and he wants much better on that department which was something where Matton was responsible.

On the other hand Andrea Adamo left the position of the Hyundai WRC team boss and they still didn't choose the new boss so it is something logical that Matton, as an ex-Citroen WRC team boss who just quit his job at FIA, to become a new Hyundai team boss.

He also runs his own team MY Racing in native Belgium and he still doesn't have a comment on this theme but there is a fact that Hyundai lacks a team boss and Matton is still available.
