Hi, friends!

Highly experienced and ex-works driver Freddy Loix entered World Rally Championship event for the first time after 2004 when he got booted by Peugeot after mixed results with the team in the same year.

I remember Loix in the days when he was privateer at the of nineties when he was always entered with private Toyota Corolla WRC and he was consistently quick against the works drivers. I remember that at one point works Toyota WRC team registered Freddy for the manufacturer's points instead of Didier Auriol. Auriol got pissed off and won that same rally. But this was enough - Freddy Loix was in he rallying orbit and lots of teams wanted his services for the following years.

That situation was in 1998 and Mitsubishi signed him on a three year deal to drive for them from 1999. Their Lancer Group A was developed around Tommi Makinen and it was not easy to drive for the drivers with the different driving style. Loix just couldn't find the same speed as he had in the Toyota privateer days.

There were some results but overall, rallying world was expecting much more form the Belgium hope. In 2002 he got signed for Hyundai but their Accent WRC was probably the worst WRC car around at that time. He couldn't deliver big with them but I remember some very promising special stage times from that stint, especially some scratches at Cyprus Rally 2002. Hyundai pullod of from the World Rally Championship two event before the end of the season 2003 and Loix had to look for another job.

In the late 2003 he was signed by Peugeot to replace Richard Burns after he got ill. That was kinda good but in 2004 his results were just disappointing which resulted with being booted from Peugeot.

After WRC stint he started to drive for various teams in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and his results with Škoda were really great. Now he is entered for Monte with the private team of Pieter Tsjoen who will also be his co-driver at Monte in WRC2 class and the car will of course be Škoda Fabia Rally2.

Let the best win - as always..
