How to prepare yourself mentally for the rally/race

avatar

Hi, friends!

Rallying and racing are the adrenaline sports so it is hard to be completely calm just before the race. If someone says that he/she is not nervous before the start of some race, that person is either lying or something is wrong with that person. It is normal to be nervous because you can crash heavily and this way the stress is going out from you.

There are also some exercises which you can use every day to prepare yourself, your brain and nerves for the activities which are in front of you.

There are some short videos you can watch and see what works best for you. Most of the racing drivers try to improve their reflexes by using the balls because you activate your massively and at the same time you build your concentration.
Here is the short video which can you help you with this:

There is a great video from the Indy Car series guys who talk about their mental strength and how to prepare as best as they can. They are also talking about how to overpass mistakes because mistakes can destroy your confidence massively.

That video is one of the best I saw, it is called: Mental Preparation - The Mental Edge, and you can find it right here:

There is also a great article about ex-works and now Toyota team boss Jari-Matti Latvala and his preparations for the rallies. Here is an article on the following link:

That's it for now. I hope that I opened your eyes at least a little bit... :)
