Lukyanuk leads Rally di Roma after first day of competition

avatar

Hi, friends!

Alexey Lukyanuk learned his rally driving on super fast gravel roads of Russia, Estonia and close countries with special stages with average speeds around 130km/h.

It's easy later to go on the slower roads with your speed built on that high speed stages. Lukyanuk admitted that he had problems with driving on tarmac stages when he started driving tarmac rallies. It is almost the same with all Scandinavian drivers who are super fast on gravel but slower on tarmac.

Well, Alexey is not Scandinavian, he is Russian. And he is super fast Russian.

Today he won all six stages at Rally di Roma Capitale and only Giandomenico Basso is kinda close to him and that close means more then half a minute behind him.

I think that Rally di Roma is counted both days separately for the Italian Championship so if Basso wins tomorrow also, he will be in good advantage because Crugnola crashed out on first special stage of the rally.

Results:
Lukyanuk
Basso
O.Solberg
Tempestini
Kreim
