Neuville tested with Hyundai ahead of WRC Rally Mexico 2023
Hi, friends!
World Rally Championship teams are heading back on gravel after almost five months of absence from that surface. Rally Mexico was held last time in 2020, just before coronavirus pandemic. I remember well that the organizer cut the last day of event because there was a lockdown coming in Europe and because of that and the chance for teams to come back before the borders got closed, they had to finish the rally a day earlier.
But now the things are in much better shape and sport is back with the spectators which is something which can only help to boost the morale in the teams, that motivates them even more.
News for 2023 is the limited number of testing days so the drivers will do some rallies from the national series with surface very similar to the ones where the big event will be held. I think that this is the good practice because spectators will have a chance to see the "big boys" in their backyard. Some of them already tried that practice and some still didn't but the old way of testing is just as important as the rallies itself.
Hyundai wants to improve their score after they've got beaten on the first two rallies of the season - at Monte Carlo Rallye and Rally Sweden.
They need a morale boost so they will try hard for the win and their biggest name is still Thierry Neuville who tested recently with the team to prepare for the Rally Mexico.
We have two videos from the test so you can see by yourself how good was the drive. Please enjoy... :)
