Onboard rally video of the day - F. Duval with Ford Focus WRC at Rally Germany

Francois Duval was one of the finest Belgium rally drivers but some of his decisions costed hum a better career. One of the worst choices was to sign for the Citroen World Rally Team, the team which dumped him like nothing after just one season and the win at the last rally together in Australia.

His biggest mistake was to leave the Ford works team which discovered him and gave him an opportunity to shine on the World Rally Championship stages.

He was declared as the biggest young hope of 2004 but the list of serious accidents in 2005, when driving Citroen Xsara WRC alongside Sebastien Loeb, put him aside for the three rallies, and Carlos Sainz sr stepped in as a replacement, but later Citroen gave him another shot which he took with both hands.

Yeah, he won that WRC Rally Australia after Loeb went off the road into the tree and Colin McRae's mechanics couldn't replace the differential in time, the win was Duvals, his only one in the World Rally Championship.

He had some outings as a privateer until 2010 but with no wins and you know what team bosses need - victories. On the final WRC rally in Germany 2010, he had a serious accident when his co-driver Denis Giraudet broke some ribs and had to be away from the sport for some time.
