Ho, friends!

Season of winter rallies is just in front of us and Scandinavia is full of the events held on snow and ice. Sweden has its own round of the World Rally Championship called WRC Rally Sweden and it is always held at the start of February.

I can tell you that this is one of the fastest events in the championship and probably highest Finnish rally driver ever Marcus Gronholm always performed at his best with numerous wins.

Season 2005 and was the last season for Peugeot Motorsport in the premier class of rallying and after that season, and especially after tragic accident in Wales when their co-driver Michael Park lost his life as Markko Martin's navigator. They just decided to leave the sport but their sister company Citroen came back as a factory team in 2007 and took all the honors they could take with Seb Loeb.

To be honest, Marcus Gronholm marked the early years of this century in rallying winning the championship twice - first in 2000 and then in 2002, both times with highly praised Peugeot 206 WRC.

I really don't understand why they decided to bring much bigger 307 WRC when even their drivers said that 206 WRC is a better car. But their marketing strategy was to promote new 307 CC cabrio through rallying and they were not that successful as in previous years.

Only Gronholm's ingenuity helped the team to raise the quality of that project. Today we have the video from that era with Gronholm and 307 WRC at the snow of Sweden.

Please enjoy and learn from the Finnish master... :)
