Onboard rally video of the day - Paolo Andreucci with Renault Megane Maxi at Rally Sanremo

I found in rally registry that Paolo Andreucci used twice Renault Megane Maxi kit car in his career at WRC Rally Sanremo and the years were 1997 and 1998. Both years his co-driver was Simona Fedeli, and both times they retired because of some reason (it doesn't say if there was a mechanical problem or a shunt).

But it is nice that he had a female co-drivers. One of his later female co-drivers Anna Andreussi became his wife and after a big crash a few years ago, she doesn't go on the rallies that much with him.

Yeah it is very dangerous sport so it is important to stay safe and levelheaded which they are for sure with hundreds of rally starts behind them.

I always liked the sound of Renault Megane Maxi kit car because it was a normally aspirated engine with more then 280bhp (some says 320bhp) but it was less reliable then Citroen Xsara Maxi in that time. But in the national championships they ruled all across the Europe.

WRC Rally Sanremo was also counted for the Italian Rally Championship so it was normal that the best Italian drivers enter the rally and try against the best in the world.

I would say that Paolo Andreucci is one of their best drivers although he never did anything bigger outside Italy. He is now 57 and he still does around ten rallies per year which is something great.
