Onboard rally video of the day - Richard Burns with Peugeot 206 WRC at super special stage of WRC Rally Turkey

Hi, friends!

Twenty years pass so quickly and next year, in 2023 it will be twenty years of the last competitive season of late Richard Burns. Just to remind you that Burns won the World Rally Championship in 2001 and after only two years he found out that he had a brain tumor while driving for another rally and another rally legend Estonian Markko Martin was with him in the car when Burns lost his conscience.

These were just the terrible news and two years later, Burns died from brain cancer. These news were terrible. Burns died in 2005 and in 2007 Colin McRae died in a helicopter accident. Two rally legends from United Kingdom died in just two years apart.

I remember well Burn's first win which was Safari Kenya in 1998 because I tape recorded that video from Eurosport. I wasn't that happy because I was Colin McRae's fan as a youngster but Burns drove perfectly and clever and deserved that win. That win came with Mitsubishi but he signed for his former team Subaru, just a year later.

He stayed with Subaru for three seasons, until the end of 2001 when he won the championship. He signed for Peugeot for 2002 and got his number one on the sides of his Peugeot 206 WRC.

The thing is that Peugeot days were worse for Burns, he never won with them and he had really great car. Something was just wrong in the synergy of him and that car. Maybe that just wasn't ideal car for him to drive.

Today we have a short onboard rally video from his drive at super special stage of WRC Rally Turkey, the year is 2003.

Please enjoy and learn from Englishman... :)
