Pirelli rally tires are finally here

Hi, friends!

Our little project called season 2022 is shaping itself little by little despite all the problems we have on the way. But almost every project has its obstacles and that is not a reason to stop.

I was waiting for the top rally tires for some time and I had a deal with Slovenian tuner about this but I got a better offer for the same number of Pirelli rubber and I took it.

We still lack the racing fuel for our Citroen C2 R2 Max and I am working on this problem all the time.

What about prices of the tires?
We took four Centurato 16 inch Pirellis for wet tarmac, two RKW7 Pirellis for very cold or damp tarmac and four mediums RA7 Pirellis for dry tarmac but for shorter special stages.

Later I will have to buy six more tires - four hard compounds and two more mediums.

And now prices:
CENTURATO wet 280€ per piece (4x),
RKW7 soft 260€ per piece (2x),
RA7 medium 260€ per piece (4x)

That means that I paid 2700€ for 10 rally Pirellis with the delivery.

So now you know how expensive is rallying in a better way...

Wow that adds up to a lot. But like you said in the last post, having good tires can save you money (and health!) in making it less likely to crash. How often do you have to get new tires like this?

I think that six more new tires will be enough for this season. Next year all new again except maybe these four full wet tires because we rarely have full wet special stages (but we had first full day on those rally in 2020 when we finished 3rd in our class). As you said, new tires can save you very much! And this car destroy rubber much more then our cars from before. It's just much more powerful and it has LSD and sequential gearbox and that means much more pressure on rubber. :)
