Rally categories explained (VIDEO)

Hi, friends!

There are various categories for the cars and drivers who want to compete in rallying and I must say that there is some difference from World Rally Championship and various national Championships in classes/categories.

But lets stay in World Rally Championship because that's what I mainly write about.

There is five classes in the WRC:

WRC1 class - for Rally1 cars (premium category with cars of apprx 550bhp and hybrid units (at the end of this season hybrids will be gone))

WRC2 class - for Rally2 cars (4x4 machinery with apprx 300bhp, that should be premium class if you ask me)

WRC3 class - for Rally3 cars which is our newly aquired Ford Fiesta Rally3 (4x4, apprx 260bhp)

RC4 class - for Rally4 cars (apprx 240bhp, front wheel drive, this class/category is not counted for points in its own class but drivers can enter WRC events just to compete)

RC5 class - for Rally5 cars which is our Renault Clio Rally5 (apprx 180bhp, front wheel drive, not counted for points in its own class)

Useful explanations for those interested. Nice to see the Hive rally car advanced from WRC5 to WRC3. Will you use the new car in the next race?
