Škoda won't debut new evolution of Rally2 car in Finland

Hi, friends!

Now it is official that Škoda Motorsport won't debut their new evolution of Fabia Rally2 Evo car which they used recently as a zero car at Rally Bohemia in Czech Republic.

They aay that the lack of spare parts is crucial for this reason but every new rally car has its gremlins and that's the case on the first rallies until they solve the reliability problems called also a teething problems.

There is another thing about no one thinks at the moment. Škoda's works driver Andreas Mikkelsen is in a big fight for this year's WRC2 championship and he doesn't need reliability problems which are normal for the new car.

He needs top reliable car for the fight in the next two rallies and one of them should be outside of Europe (New Zealand or Japan) because of the regulations.

So the debut of the new car will be in 2nd part of this season but not in Finland as expected.

Is Rally big in Czech Republic? Are Skoda good cars? My family back in the day was from Czech Republic and I've always been curious. Thanks!

Škoda is their national brand so yes, its big. Rallying is big there, just because of the manufacturer they have.

In 2009 I was traveling through Czech Republic and Slovakia by rail and the countryside from Brno to Prague was maybe the most beautiful thing I've seen in my entire life, it was early August, very pretty and dew hung everywhere as we were traveling by rail in the morning. Want to go back someday.
