Suninen tested Hyundai Rally1 machinery for the first time

Hi, friends!

Finn Teemu Suninen used to be works M-Sport Ford driver until they have signed Adrien Fourmaux as a big rally hope. But so far Fourmaux proved to be able to crash just as much as Suninen did in his M-Sport days.

Suninen is definitely quick driver which proves 3rd place podium finishes at Mexico, Sardinia and Portugal rallies. All three events are gravel rallies so that proves that he could easily be called a gravel specialist.

But too many shunts ruined his reputation and after M-Sport decided to delegate him to the lower WRC2 category, he decided to move on. He left the team and soon he got signed by Hyundai to drive their Rally2 machinery.

Ott Tanak refused to drive for Hyundai at Monza last year and Suninen was happy to replace him with scoring 6th place at the debut in the top class with Hyundai.

This year he had really good rallies in WRC2 category and he finally won at Catalunya last month. He will attend Rally Japan this weekend to fight in the same class.

Now, after Ott Tanak has decided to leave the team, someone had to take the testing duties, alongside Thierry Neuville, and Suninen was obvious choice.

Will he be their violine in WRC1 class or not, it is still unknown but I am sure that they think about him as a potential replacement for Estonian Ott Tanak.
