Will Rally2 become a premium category in the future?

Rally1 cars became the most expensive machinery of all time in rallying and if you want to compete in Rally1 car, you must either rent it from Toyota or you can rent or buy it from M-Sport Ford.

Price of the car is at least 500k euro plus everything else. You must have a factory support because of the hybrid unit in the service park so it is not enough just to buy the car. Yeah, prices just went sky high.

That's why there are some thoughts that Rally2 machinery should replace Rally1 cars because it is much more cheaper but it is still unknown if it would be with or without hybrid unit in it.

I agree that it is stupid to see only eight Rally1 cars per event and when we look at the past, you could see around twenty WRC cars (with the privateers) per event. That was a golden era of rallying.

February 28th is a day when FIA will have some decisions so lets wait for more news...
