Hivechess Tournament Season 15 Round 4: @maestroask was dominating again

avatar
(Edited)

Dear chess fans,

yesterday the 4th round of season 15 was played. It was a 5+0 arena with record-breaking 34 players. Welcome to @mundocuriosidad (M_schumacherf1) and @engilhramn who joined for the first time and welcome back @jaki01, @sammy00 (migmag), @maciejficek (XM9000) and @iamchessguy!

This time @maestroask had his revenge and won the tournament seemingly effortless with 7 points lead. Second was @sawko and third @eniolw who like the winner had a 100% win rate (but had less berserkings). Ex aequo in points with @eniolw was @samostically as fourth. Congratulations to all!

The rules you can look up in the S15 announcement post.

After 4 rounds @maestroask has already a lead of 10 points. @vjap55 could overtake @dhilan04 and is now on rank 3.

But who were the lucky winners of the 5x100 GLX which I give away thanks to the third Forkday of Hive?
They are @maciejficek @gabotask @grafo07 @agreste and @eniolw - Congratulations!

You got them sent to your Hive-Engine wallets.
image.png
You can swap them to Hive or transfer them to your Genesis League Goals account (login via keychain first) and stake them (147% APR still).

See you all next week - and keep practicing!

Just when I wanted to publish the post I saw that @mundocuriosidad (M_schumacherf1) was flagged by Lichess, for "violating the Terms of Service". We don´t see this very often. @cryptoniusraptor, for info as he is also in the PizzaChess team. His Lichess account was not closed, so for now I keep him in the rankings, maybe there is a good explanation for it, or a misunderstanding. Maybe, @mundocuriosidad, you want to add anything from your side?

I got the tokens. Thank you! It's always fun to play. I didn't berserk so much because I could not focus well and the internet didn't help me, but my strategy paid off anyway.

Oww man, the amount of +2000 elo players that participated in this round was pretty big haha, I think so far it was the hardest round I've played.

I lost a game against M_schumacherf1 and I felt like something was off, dunno, he played ok during mid-game but his moves were quite accurate despite not even having given more than 10 seconds of thought to any move, but idk.

Happy to participate tho! Was cool to see Jaki playing after a while. I have to practice more for the next round :)

I played also against him, at that time his rating was 1379, and I thought "wtf, no way!" I almost lost.
But it could happens if someone who is e.g. always on chess.com comes freshly to Lichess. A bit weird though.

That can also be an option! He destroyed me definitely haha, but I must admit I played pretty bad overall, maybe wasn't on my mood or the tournament was just pretty strong for me.

I don't want judge anyway, so let's hope it's just a superficial thing and we can have him in more rounds. After all, the more the merrier :)

Indeed, I asked him to try to appeal at Lichess if he did nothing wrong.
