Hivechess Tournament Season 17 Round 9: @amirl was the new winner by a hair's breadth

Dear chess fans,

yesterday already the penultimate round of season 17 was played, a 4+2 Fischer Random chess arena with 23 players participating. Welcome back to Hivechess, @petreius and @yonnathang!

@amirl ended up as the winner in a super-close fight, ex aequo in points with @dhilan04 and @samostically, ranks 4 and 5 went to @eniolw and @lucianosky (Pavarotty). Congratulations to All!

In this position between @rodrook (White) and @samostically, after Black´s second move, White is already completely winning! Can you spot the way to go? Congrats to @rodrook for finding it during the game!

This motiv is a must-know in Chess960 and the identical pattern was actually played also in the first days of the just completed GOAT Challenge 2024 (which was won by Magnus Carlsen)!

In tournament 1 @fiona777 could edge closer again and is now only 6 points away from a place on the podium. In tournament 4 @samostically was able to overtake @lucianosky and is now second!
