I played in the same tournament as Magnus Carlsen 😄

sorry guys, this Friday was no Hivechess, but I have some fun stuff for you instead:
some days ago chess Youtuber agadmator hosted a 2+0 bullet "CakeDeFi Christmas" tournament on Lichess.
The first price was 1 Bitcoin, so quite attractive!
Here is the top ranking just a few seconds before the start:
As you can see it was a crazy high-profile event, with Magnus Carlsen (DrChampionstein on Lichess) as top-rated player, followed by Vladimir Artemiev (Konevlad), Daniel Naroditsky (RebeccaHarris), Hikaru Nakamura (TSMFTXH) as 6th, Alireza Firouzja, Anish Giri, Andrew Teng and many other top players!
The other thing what made it special was, that it was not a "titled arena" like usually, but everybody could join! So I tried my luck and after several attempts (and a restart of the tournament due to a complete overload of the server) I managed to get in and play a few games! Unfortunately I had to do a break (diner was ready) and after the pause I couldn´t get back in anymore - Lichess was at its limit and apparently didn´t allow any further players in - at that time the number of participants was app. 17.000!
The tournament should run over 2 hours but after app. 50 min. it crushed again completely and an "interim end result" was shown:

Hikaru Nakamura was first with quite a gap, with Alireza as runner-up and Magnus quite behind.
I ended up as 6897th 😄, but it was really fun to be actually (a small) part in such an event.
In January it will be repeated, but not sure yet if the players will have to start from scratch again or if it will be just continued with the current points at the time of the crash.

They should have known in advance how much they can handle, by testing etc. .
Hahahaha was this not the agadmator tournament that collapse the last time? They finally played it again, I missed 😒, anyway it collapsed again, the numbers are incredible. My favourite GM Hikaru topped it... it's a good preparation ahead of the world rapid & blitz championship . It nice to play in such events, at least for fun. ... He will have to enjoy his Bitcoin, but as I hear just now, he won’t end World Blitz Chess Championship because they found him Covid positive. I hate this Circus Theater which is ruining everything…

Ha, das ist extrem unwahrscheinlich. Ausserdem haben sie, glaube ich, jetzt ein zusätzliches Eintrittskriterium eingeführt (>2000 bullet ranking), dass so schwache Spieler wie mich gar nicht reinlässt.
So for that season You payed 50% in Hive and 50% in HBD (as I got 2 transfers from You but only first has memo)? For earlier You paid 100% in Hive.

Indeed, I had announced that I would do it this way, because the exchange rate Hive/HBD was so volatile that it is better this way. You can decide for yourself when and if to swap the HBD for Hive (or save them with 12% APR).
