My Actifit Report Card: December 14

Greetings, everyone!

Interesting day: activity goal completed, at the end of a day where lot of things went totally wrong.

The plan was to take a late flight and reach home somewhere after midnight, but mother nature and Lufthansa's stupidity blew up all my plans.

Munich had a bit of snow yesterday, and many flights were canceled. My flight to Bucharest was scheduled in time at 10PM, but we had to wait for de-icing. And we waited... two hours in the plane at the gates, and one additional hour on the runway, till they realized that they will not be allowed to takeoff, as it was already after 1AM (Munich metropolitan region has an interdiction for night flights). The flight was canceled, and we were returned to the gate, only to find a totally closed airport, with no one around to open the doors.

We had to wait another hour inside the plane, to find ourselves in a place that was looking like a refugee camp, with people sleeping everywhere on the cold floor, and some lucky ones having cartoon boxes to warm their backs.

I took a taxi and found a reasonable hotel for a shower, and few hours of sleep...
