Morning Run: After Babet
steevc just finished a 5.46km run, that lasted for 35 minutes.

Storm Babet swept across the UK last night. I heard the rain, but it did not seem too bad here. I was up early today as I had to pick up my better half from the station at 7am. My girls went to see Madonna in London last night and stayed over as there would not have been many trains. Just up the road there were some branches down and the fencing around the roadworks had fallen over. There are quite a few people heading for the station at that time, but then a lot from around here will work in London. Yesterday some trains were cancelled and I got to the office later than planned, but I do not go that far.
After that little outing I went for my run. It was raining a little, but not too bad and it was not cold. The running advise I have seen is that you need a mix of gentle runs and more intense workouts. This was one of the latter where I do my hill sprints on West Drive. I did five of those and the times may have been slightly better than other attempts recently. I need to keep working on this.
There were a few people about walking their dogs and a couple of cyclists. I also saw a local lady who does race walking and comes to parkrun.
When I got back I fed the chickens and grabbed some more raspberries for breakfast. They are nearly finished now. I will chop the plants back when they are done. They pop back up each year.

I was never a big fan, but my wife likes her. Apparently it was a huge production with lots of dancers.

Did they say how the Madonna show was? I think I would have liked to see her back when she was more popular, but I feel like these days she has kind of went down hill and gotten weird. I guess the real question would be if the vocals are still up to snuff.
She said it was good, but we did not have much time to talk this morning.
Madonna is 65 now, so she won't be what she was in the 80s. I know she always went for spectacle in her shows (with some controversy), but I just wasn't into her. Obviously many others love her.
There is a lot of nostalgia for the 80s and those who were there now have the money to spend on these gigs. Tickets were not cheap. We do differ on what gigs we want to go to. I would rather see a band who are still innovating rather than just churning out the 'greatest hits'. I think our next big gig together is Foo Fighters next year.
That should be a really good show for you! I am going to see Buddy Guy on his farewell tour next year. It should be pretty good I think. The venue is really small and the atmosphere is cool there. I understand what you are saying about Madonna. I am a fan, but I kind of stopped following her after the Ray of Light album. I feel that was the downward arch of her peak.
Buddy Guy is from a different era. Not many of the old bluesmen still around. I think with some of these artists it is about seeing them whilst you still have the chance even if they are well past their best.

I love dogs but I'm always scared of them, lol

These dogs were all with owners. Some were on leads, so I can avoid them. If the dog is loose then I keep an eye on it to see if it is interested in me. I have had some close encounters with dogs.
