steevc just finished a 1.25km run, that lasted for 7 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 76.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I did my regular parkrun this morning. It was better than last time as I was nearly a minute quicker. I just tried to push all the way. That was hard, but I must have it in me. I believe that running is partly a mental battle as you need to keep going even when you want to stop.

The conditions were not too bad. There was the regular mud patch, but I just ran through that. I took an extra top to wear before and after, but did not really need it.

I did not shower when I got back as I knew I had another run. I did have a coffee and a pastry though. There is a new road opening that will connect Arlesey High Street to the A507 bypass. It is being called a 'relief road', but it only takes traffic away from the north end of the village. It will slightly shorten some of our journeys. The council held a 'fun day' there today as it is nearly completed. The road surface is done, but the lines have not been painted yet.

There were various things on including a marching band, morris dancers and majorettes. There was also a fun run out to the bypass and back. It was free and an opportunity to check it out. I think about 20 people were running. Some young kids went off ahead, but I was in front of most of the adults. I took it a little quicker than I had at parkrun. It may be that the road surface helped with that. It is a shame that the new footbridge over the bypass is not open as I would like to go across it. We just turned back and ended at the roundabout. Some people did another lap or two, but that was enough for me given what I had already done.

When this is fully open I will have more possible routes for my runs.

I hung around to see a friend doing the morris dancing. That is a very old British tradition, but I wonder if they can find many young people to carry it on.

There were some refreshments available, but I had no money with me and went home for some lunch, and a shower.

My day did not start so well as I found that rats had got into the chicken food bin. The bottom had rusted and they will force their way in. I went looking for a new bin after lunch, but it seems not many places sell them. Plastic is not so good as the rats would get through that.

The weather stayed nice though, so I have just been sitting out in the garden.

Enjoy your weekend. We gain an hour tonight as the clocks change.

I also do the same. If I have another run or any other stressful thing to do, I won't take my bathe because I know that I will sweat again

Nice job on your run! I have a feeling I am going to have a rude awakening Monday morning when I start back up with my exercising after being on my vacation for over a week. It's going to be rough! I will likely be so sore on Tuesday!

Seems like its a little over the top to open a road? With actual Morris Dancers and everything...

When this is fully open I will have more possible routes for my runs

That is cause for celebration... it'll be great to have new new areas to explore :-)
