steevc just finished a 7.03km run, that lasted for 43 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 519.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
This morning was both dark and damp with a misty rain. It was a little cold too, but off I went. I did my usual loop without worrying too much about pace, but then I think I kept going pretty well anyway. I do have a couple of aches, but they were not bothering me much.

There are always people out and about. Some are walking their dogs, but others will be off to work or school. I did see the two old guys who just seem to take walks together for some exercise. Up West Drive it was a little hard to see where I was going as there are no lights. I was wary of trip hazards on the road and then on the path under the trees where roots can make it uneven.

It got a little lighter as I went on and some parts are lit. My glasses were getting wet and that does not help visibility.

I fed the chickens when I got back. I will fill the holes the rats make, but they will soon be back. I fed myself on granola. My Garmin watch was playing up in that it was stuck on a 'saving' screen, but the activity had been uploaded. I left it for a while, but did a reset in the end. You just hold down the power button until it turns off. I have very rarely had to turn it off in the three years I have had it.

We ought to have had our solar panels and battery installed by the end of this week, but the guys decided it was not going to be viable to hang the battery on the outside wall. With our timber frame house there is an outer board that the render goes on. They want us to build a platform for the battery to sit on as it needs to be above any potential flooding. I just need them to confirm some of the details of this so I can try to get it done at the weekend, but it is likely that they will not come back until next year as I expect the slots are booked up. This is annoying, but given the lack of sun at this time of year we are not losing much.

Stay well and run free.

It was tough when I started running. You have to build up and keep going. Like many things it takes dedication.

Nice job on your run as usual. My wife and I skipped our workout today because we were up late last night at the theater watching a play. Do you like your Garmin watch? I have been looking at them, but they are just so expensive and there are so many different models now. Consensus seems to be that Garmin is one of your best bets no matter what model you get.

I do like my Garmin. It's a lower end model (Forerunner 235), but does what I want and it's generally reliable. I've looked at the more expensive models, but it's hard to justify the cost unless you really need the extra features.

Yeah, I really just need a fitness tracker to replace my fitbit, but some of the features that tie it to your phone could be cool.

For those who usually walk with their dogs, do they chain those dogs? Cos I know it is not really nice not to chain them especially the aggressive ones

Walking in the cold is its own fun, the body gets warm by walking.
