Morning Run: Narnia?

steevc just finished a 6.97km run, that lasted for 45 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 519.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
As I have been in the office this week I have not run as much as I would like, but then I am still getting over whatever bugs I had at Xmas. It has turned quite cold here and the Nest said it was around freezing out there. I needed an extra layer and some gloves for that.

I just did my usual loop at an easy pace. Everywhere was frosty and white, so I was wary of it being slippery. It was not too bad, but I saw a lady slip over yesterday. She seemed to be okay. It was also still dark as I started my run. I just followed the regular route that involves a bit of a climb.

I have entered another race. The London Winter Run next month is a 10km event that passes some of the well known landmarks and has thousands of runners. My work are paying for the entry and we can raise money for Cancer Research. I should be okay on the distance and it should be fairly flat.

I thought the frosty scene with the lamppost looked a little like Narnia.

I was mostly listening to No Such Thing As A Fish plus Cryptomaniacs.

The local parkrun has been cancelled again, but I aim to do some running at the weekend.

Run free!

Everytime I see your running posts I feel ashamed I am not walking enough. Since the pandemic I just don't feel enthusiastic about it. However now it has become more urgent and I do need to move my backside so have started getting my daily steps up.

The path you have photographed today gives me a Harry Potter feel :)

I didn't see any wizards around. I do have to motivate myself to get out, but it is part of my routine now. I see it as useful podcast listening time as I don't tend to do that at home and I have loads to work through.

Ah, I see where you were going with that. We are getting the true snow queen Narnia vibe over the next couple of days. They are calling for about a third meter of snow in our area.

On Cryptomaniacs @jongolson was saying it was -40 out his way. That's the same for C or F! It never gets that cold here. We had a few flakes the other day, but it's just frosty for now. Well it has melted now. Have fun in the snow.

Yeah, it gets pretty brutal up in Canada. I think our ground still isn't fully frozen, so I am not sure how long the snow will last. At 12 inches, it should take a while for it to go away though!

Yes, gloves are needed right now, especially when you have to hold a dog lead..
Working in an office sure puts fitness on hold, and no walk to the far away photo copier or standing up when on the phone can make up for that..

I at least get a decent walk when I go to work. I had to jog a bit yesterday to catch the train. My legs were okay this morning in shorts.

It's just like that because of the cold weather, going for a run has definitely become a bit difficult.
