steevc just finished a 6.21km run, that lasted for 35 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 411.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
Another lovely day for a run, but it was a bit cool and misty this morning. The sun warms it up by lunch time. As I headed out the first thing I saw was a dead rat. Those critters are everywhere, but not always seen. We get a few in the garden around the chicken run. Later I saw a live squirrel.

I did my regular loop up the hill to Fairlands Valley Park. I actually managed a personal best on an uphill segment. I was trying to keep up the pace, but not going all out for speed. It is nice when I get to the top and it gets a little easier.

I took a different route out of the park this time and then it was mostly downhill. That made for a quicker pace for the second half, but I did not try to sprint it. My legs are still a little tired from Sunday.

There may be rain later this week, but I will still try to get out and run. I am averaging 30km each week and I want to keep that up. I will still be a bit down on my total for this year. I am convinced that more running helps me build speed and endurance.

Run free!

Ugh, that sounds horrible! I often see lots of dead animals on the drive in to work. Raccoons, Opossums, deer, skunks, I don't think I could handle a rat though.

Those would all be bigger than a rat. We don't get much big wildlife apart from foxes, deer and badgers. I hit a badger with the car and it did a lot of damage.

You are lucky you don't get skunks. I googled it and apparently there are no skunks over there.

No skunks here that I know of unless they escaped from a zoo. I see foxes in our garden sometimes.

I've run over two squirrels in the past two weeks, poor things. Also nearly hit a suicidal cat near the rally where i live, just trotted across the road, not a care in the world, had to emergency stop to avoid hitting it, it just pranced away not even looking.

Plenty of squirrels around, but look out for the cats. You should be going to quick around your road anyway. Too many cats get killed that way.
