steevc just finished a 5.42km run, that lasted for 35 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 386.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It has really turned cold now. I checked the weather on my phone before I got up and it was saying -3C, so I knew I would need a warm top and gloves, but I would still wear shorts.

Everything is looking white with the frost. The Moon is looking pretty full and I think I could see a planet near it. It did not feel too slippery underfoot, but I was being careful.

I headed for West Drive to do some sprints up the hill. That road was less frosty. I saw a few cars go up and down it, so maybe they warm it up a little. I did my sprints, but they were a little slower than recent outings. Some were under 5min/km. The cold may have been a factor, but it felt tough this time. There were less people around than usual.

I jogged home and it was still quiet out there. I checked on the chickens when I got back. They needed food and their water was frozen. I had issues getting out of the run as the bolt had moved just enough to lock the gate. I could get my hand through the gaps to move it. We are not getting any eggs lately, but the girls seem okay generally. One of them struggles a bit to get around and I had to lift her out of the coop so she could feed. Considering they are originally tropical jungle birds they do okay in our climate.

Have a great day and run free.

We are actually in a bit of a warm patch right now, so we haven't had too much frost the past couple of mornings. It was actually warm enough we had fog yesterday. That definitely looks like a hard frost for you. I think we are supposed to get some temp drops by the weekend and precipitation, so we might be looking at snow by Monday.

It's been sunny all morning, but it is still frosty out there. Luckily I don't need to go anywhere now. Up in Edinburgh where my sister lives they had snow today. The forecast for here is freezing for a week at least, but low chance of snow.

Is that normal for you to have freezing temps all week like that? We are still right on the edge of winter really being here. Once we hit early Jan, we should be plunged full into it.

Our winters can be variable. Don't get snow every year here and sometimes it's just wet. I think last winter was relatively warm. That can mess up some natural cycles. Seems a lot of winter crops came early this year, so there may be less later on.

Ah, yeah, it's always kind of a crap shoot these days with crops. The balance really seems to be out off kilter!

I saw that planet near the moon this morning. I fancied it might be Artemis on its way back but I suspect it would be too small. Nice thought though!

I saw some cool pics from that craft looking back at Earth. Maybe we'll get to see people go to the Moon again in our lifetimes.

Got any snow? I've heard from family that there's some in Edinburgh.

There is none here yet but it feels like it could snow any minute.

I saw the pics, they are awesome. I am really hopeful that we can get people there before 2030!

Look at those beautiful pastel colours in the sky. I haven't caught any sunrises but I've caught a couple of sunsets with skies like that - pink, then lilac.. Yesterday there was a full moon too.

Congratulations for having the discipline to go out running in this cold :D

I do see some nice sunrises, but the photos never look as good. The moon looked much bigger in real life.

I was proud of myself for getting out there, but glad of having a warm house to come back to.

It's cold now, but at least it isn't as bad when you are running.

I would be cold if I were just standing around, but I generate a lot of heat when I run. Could be cold at parkrun tomorrow, so need to avoid hanging around.
