Morning Run: I got chills

steevc just finished a 7.0km run, that lasted for 44 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 459.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
You can see from the photo that the sun was out, but it was pretty cold out there with a significant frost. I opted to wear my gloves. The schools are off for Easter, so I did not have to worry about crowds near the school. The road through Arlesey is still closed, but it looks like a few people tried to go that way until they saw the barriers.

My legs were feeling a bit tired, but I plodded on out on the Pendleton Way cycle track towards Stotfold. A few people were out and about. Some would be walking to the station.

When I got to the clinic at Stotfold there was a queue of people waiting to get in. I think appointments can be hard to get, so you need to just turn up. I turned back there and stopped at the outdoor gym for a few reps of kettle bell and dips.

Coming back I took the long ways around Arlesey. The sunshine was nice, but it was cold. I was just not particularly quick today, but that is fine. I was happy to get back for some breakfast.

The forecast is for it to get a little warmer by the weekend. I hope the parkrun course dries out, but I may be running elsewhere this week.

Run free!

Sometimes even movement doesn't warm things up much. Which reminds me of a time when I was grumpier and hotter when I finished a walk than when I started. And it had to do with just how unbearably hot it was even in the evening hours.

I think I've only had one time in recent memory where I didn't feel better at the end of a walk. The positive feeling of being active usually kicks in at some point. But this one time it was a particularly hot and sticky summer evening and the grumpiness did not go away no matter how long I walked. Which made me even grumpier and sweaty. It was the oddest thing and hasn't happened since.

I generally get hot when I run, even when it's cold out. I may be tired afterwards, but I am usually glad I did it. It has become part of my routine.

If I may ask, how will you be able to know how many calories the run has helped you to burn?

The Strava app calculates it based on how fast and far I run. I have a Garmin watch that does GPS tracking. These posts are generated by an app that pulls data from Strava.

It keeps giving us false hope with a bit of sunshine. We've had every kind of weather this year already.

I thought we had cracked it the other weekend and then it went super cold again. Outrageous, my garden is a wasteland

The sun and the chills sound like what we have here in our Autumn right now.
My daughter in the UK called to tell me how excited they were, as their spring season is slowly starting to appear.
You did well here!

I keep thinking spring is coming as the flowers come up, but then we get more rain or it turns cold again. It may be the time when our weathers overlap.

That's the weather lately, as even the farmers here are befuddled with the changes. The seasons seem to try their best to hang on longer, before they leave.

When this kind of sunshine comes after winter, it's fun to sit inside and run around. 7 kilometer running is not a easy task but you have done it. Keep it up bro.
