Sunday Run: Letchworth loop

I just finished a 15.012km running that lasted about 1hh:25mm:4ss !

I heard it raining in the night, so was not too hopeful for my run, but it had stopped by the time I got up. I had a route in mind, but was not sure how far it would be. I started by heading to Fairfield, as usual. I stuck to hard surfaces as it was likely to be muddy otherwise. Instead of going towards The Grange I ran along the road to pick up the path around Standalone Farm. I then ran along Wilbury Road from the farm. This is where the Standalone 10k starts and it is a very up and down stretch of road. Some nice houses along there though. Outside one was a Morgan 3-wheeler (or a replica of one) that looked nice. Not a great car for a rainy day. I did not stop to take pictures.

I do not normally run that road apart from during the race, but at the other end I was back on familiar ground that I have run a lot recently. I headed down to Radwell Meadows. There were not many people out this morning, but I did see a few runners when I was nearer home.

I had started off fairly slow on the first couple of kilometres whilst I warmed up, but was then able to maintain between 5:30 and 5:40/km. Towards the end I went a little quicker. I eased off on the last couple of kilometres as I was tiring by then. The average page was not bad for me.

Not much wildlife to report today. A squirrel ran in front of me when I was nearly home. The main podcast listening was No Guitar Is Safe interviewing Mrs Smith. She's not your typical shredding guitarist.

It was a nice run overall. It can be nice getting out after some rain when it is a little cooler.

Run free and stay well.

Take it steady if you have not been running recently. 5 miles is a lot. It's a good way to get out and explore.

I have seen a few videos of her. Could be worth a post in the guitar community :)

You are going to laugh, but I have been praying for rain! My wife and I hit our 9th straight day of walking this morning and I am so sore! My body just hasn't had time to properly recover from all of the physical exertion. Especially when you factor in all of the yardwork and gardening I have been doing aside from the walking!
