Morning Run - up and atom

I just finished a 8.24km running that lasted about 0hh:47mm:29ss !

Holy father it has been four days since my last run and I need to confess that I am a lazy git.

The weekend was not typical as I was away with the family. I got out for one run over the long weekend and did lots of walking. Not I am home again I need to get back into a running routine. I have been on furlough for a month and a half. That can lead to slipping into bad habits such as getting up late, so I have decided to set my alarm to get me up in time to run or do other exercise each day. It is not as early as if I was going to work, but it may lead to more runs.

Today I was back to 30-20-10 intervals, but it took me a while to really get going. It rained a lot last night, but was cool and dry this morning. There are still roadworks on the way to Stotfold, so I diverted over the fields as I have been doing a lot lately. That provides a nice flat and straight route. I came back via the rougher tracks, which are getting overgrown in places as nature goes wild from the rain. I had a bit of a wait to cross the main road due to all the traffic.

There were not many people out. I saw a few kids going to school, but they will finish for the summer soon. Not too much wildlife either apart from birds taking flight as I passed. Podcasts were Dead Ringers (comedy), Chasing Tone (guitar), Science Weekly and caught the beginning of a Radiolab.

I will aim to run four times each week. I do not have a strict routine, but it will probably consist of a couple of interval runs, a 'not parkrun' on Saturday and a longer run on Sunday. I will see how it goes with extending the long runs to help with my monthly half marathons.

Are people setting personal targets under lockdown? Mine are to keep doing the half marathons and to get my 5k time down before parkrun starts again.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 162 running activities, and 22 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 22 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 174.68 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:52 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.762min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

It would just be nice to stick to couch to 5k over the coming weeks. It has become evident that sitting my by backside is absolutely not doing me any good what so ever.

Having a fixed routine can be good. My other half is doing the couch to 5k too. At least you have a dog who needs to get out every day so you get some activity anyway.

Good targets!
Here, besides the possibility of having a 2nd lockdown in progress, we have the hight temperatures striking again... this is tough

I can't see things like parkrun happening much before next year. The weather here has been very variable with scorching days and heavy rain at various times.

My wife is back now so we have been getting up at our usual 5 in the morning to go out. The weather has been superb though. Nice job on your run.

Cheers. My other half has started running, but I don't think she wants to come with me even if I offer to slow down for her.
