Morning Run - Splash
I just finished a 5.084km running that lasted about 0hh:29mm:9ss !
I could hear the rain before I got up and when the cat came on the bed she was wet. This did not really inspire me to run, but I felt I ought to. I was feeling a bit stiff, so decided to just run and see how it went. The school kids were out, so I had to dodge them as well as the puddles. It was not really raining, but the air was wet and my glasses collected some of that. Not ideal for seeing where you are going.
I decided to just run around the village a bit. I took some back roads to avoid the traffic. When I got to the top end I opted to go out past the allotments. The grass was really wet and it was squelchy underfoot. My trainers will need to dry out a bit from that.
I also took the path around the back of Chase Hill Road where it is fairly quiet. Low hanging wet branches added to the fun. I wanted to make it at least 5km, so took a lap around my block with diversions down some dead ends. That involved some hill climbing that I reckon is more than Strava shows.
In the end it was not too bad, but I was not feeling at my best. Sunday's run may have taken it out of me more than I thought. I do not think I am over-doing it though. Three or four runs each week ought to be within my capability.
I shall hope for better weather on my next run.
Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 198 running activities, and 28 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:
Over these 28 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 144.89 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:23 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.733min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!
We have moved into full fall mode this week. Wet and cold and windy. I don't mind it too much, but it is a definite change from the mid 70 degree days we had this weekend. Good for you getting out and running even though you didn't feel like it. Just take it easy!
I need to keep to my routine if I can to avoid getting out of the habit. Bad weather does not help with that.
After the running streak I had for the whole summer, I think three runs a week is comfortable for me. I can squeeze one or two more but that would sap extra energy out of me.
Three or four seems about right for me too. It gives me some recovery time. I can always extend them if I feel like it. Today I did not feel like running any further.
Every day is a good day when you run.
