Morning Run - Round the houses

I just finished a 7.23km running that lasted about 0hh:40mm:54ss !

I had planned to run yesterday, but the weather was not great when I got up. Today was better, but the wind was cold at times. I have not done any intervals for a while, so set my Garmin for a 30-20-10 session. That is reps of 30s jog, 20s run, 10s sprint. I was not feeling on my best form, but I just try to go faster as required.

The sprints were hard work. I just did what I could and they are not for long anyway. A cold headwind on the way out did not help. Some guys have been digging up the cycle path for a while, so I had to get around them. That meant running on the road where they have put out some cones and traffic lights, but it was safe to do so.

As usual I took to the back streets on the way back, but I had done most of the intervals by then. I would like to increase my weekly distance and so will try to make each run a little longer. This run takes me over 200km for the year so far.

The weekend weather is looking slightly warmer, but there is some chance of rain. I will try to do a long run. I could do with getting in a half marathon for this month, but it is no big deal if I do not.

Have a good one.

Run free and stay well.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

I have been trying to integrate more HIIT stuff into my morning workouts. It isn't much but it kind of adds that interval feel. I think it keeps my body guessing and hopefully will lead to some better results for me. It's hard for me to remember that most of what I am doing now is for my organ health and eventually the weight loss will come.

Getting your heart going should be a good thing. I am also trying to teach my legs to move faster. I may need to learn more about running form if I want more speed. I feel I could go quicker.

I wish my fitness tracker had a heart rate monitor on it, but I settled for the cheaper model when I bought it. That was before I was really working out.
