Morning Run - Berry good

(Edited)

I just finished a 6.942km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:39ss !

Today my other half was up before me as she is back at work at the school after the long summer break. I had a slightly restless night as my elbow is very sore and I think it woke me up a few times. I still felt I needed to get up and run. My injuries are healing, but it takes a while for skin to grow back.

I was back to going up the hill to Fairfield, but am not doing any intervals for now. I will not be running at parkrun as I have volunteered as a marshal for this Saturday.

The run was pretty good at a fairly standard pace for me. I just kept on going up those hills. I was absorbed in my podcast about Hacker Public Radio and not thinking too much about the actual running.

I saw a few other runners and one guy I know walking his dogs. Some people run with their dogs, but I only tend to do that with my sister's dog when it is around.

When I got back I picked some raspberries to have with my breakfast. We have a good crop this year.

Run free and stay well.

Nice job on your run. I sometimes wonder if my twenty to thirty minute workout each day is enough, but that is really all the time we can spare in the morning, so I guess it has to be. I have found that the running intervals of the HIIT training I do are getting easier and I can actually do the running in place for a longer stretch without getting too winded. Small improvements I guess.

You have to fit exercise around other things and a half hour workout equates to longer really with preparation and showering. Mine felt like a good session even if I did not push myself too hard. I certainly could not have done that a few years back.

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

I'm up early with my boys for school now, too! 5:30 am. It's a far cry from the 7:00am mornings I had during the summer. Conversely, it's a quiet house during the day.

I planted some raspberry and blackberry bushes this year too! There is an old chainlink fence the surrounds the back yard. Instead of replacing it I got to thinking that having some berry bushes grow into it would turn it from 'old and rusting and ugly' into 'rustic'. Hopefully next year they'll yield some berries!

That's early! I work from home these days and 7am is early enough,

Blackberries need to be kept under control. They grow wild next door so I can pick them over the fence. The raspberries are less trouble. I just cut them back each year and they come back strong.

Hmm. You manage to run without having breakfast. A foodie like me can't do anything till I have breakfast, you should really count yourself lucky, man👍

I usually just have some water before I run and then I'm hungry afterwards. I may eat if I'm doing a really long run though, but I don't want a full stomach. It seems to work out okay.
