After marshalling last week I was wanting to run parkrun again this week. As usual I cycled up to the Letchworth course, and I mean 'up'. I am well warmed up by the time I get there, but I do leave myself some time to recover a bit. Still, by the time we walked to the start I was not feeling at my best. There was some confusion as the start has been moved again and I was one of many who went to the previous one. That was soon resolved and off we went.

The farm track has had lots of hardcore put on it, which makes it quick rough going and you have to watch your footing. Then it is up the hill for the first time. I just took it steadily and was not expecting any special time. It is always a relief to get to the top. I was wary on the gravel path where I fell a fortnight ago, but that passed without incident.

The second lap was more of the same, but I managed to kep up a similar pace. A couple of guys came past me near the end, but I had to let them go as I had nothing left. My watch and the official timing matched up. I have been very consistent on my last few runs, but I will keep working to improve on that.

I was straight on my bike to get home as I had things to do. I had a slot booked at the dump and needed to do some shopping. I did not get a real break until lunchtime.

The parkrun team do upload some pictures to Facebook, but those may not be out for a few days. I have included one from a few weeks ago, but it is not great as it looks like I am just standing on one leg.

Run free and stay well.

Cheers. I see a lot of other old guys finish around then and plenty of people take a lot longer than me, so I can be reasonably happy. I will never be the quickest.

Did you know you can earn $PIZZA daily by delegating HivePower to Hive.Pizza? (3/20)

It is a great event that makes a lot of people happy, even as they are feeling knackered. I will try to volunteer more to help keep it going.

I get inspired by other people here who do far more. If I can encourage people to do more then I am very happy.
