Morning Run: Back to the hill

I just finished a 5.349km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:47ss !

After a cold weekend it has warmed up a bit today, so there was no frost on my run. I went up to West Drive for my regular workout of five sprints up the hill. It is only a few metres climb over 300m, but it makes me work. They were not my quickest attempts, but that is okay. At least I pretty much kept running throughout as I do sometimes walk a bit on the recovery downhill.

There were a fair few people around, including some runners who were all coming down the hill. There were a couple of doves hanging around beside the drive who would fly up every time I passed, but kept coming back. The horses and sheep were out in the fields there.

On my way home I met a friend who also runs. I was asking him if he has done the new parkrun and he said he has. It must have been the week I missed when I was ill. He is quicker than me anyway.

I was listening to this podcast interview with Tori Amos. I did not realise she lives in the UK.

Run free and stay well.

Did you guys get any snow? I heard some of the area there got kind of hammered. I was going to shovel the snow this morning as my workout, but we didn't really get enough. I ended up just working out inside. Nice job on our run!

There were a few flakes on Sunday evening, but it didn't settle. Some places up north had more. There was a pub in the Yorkshire hills where people couldn't leave for a couple of days due to blocked roads. It never gets that bad around here. Much warmer now anyway.

I heard about that pub. It sounds like everyone was still in good spirits. At least they were making the best of it. Plus there was an Oasis cover band, so they had that...
