Hello hivers, i am back again, and i want to talk to you about the ways in which sports has changed my life for good.

To start with, i will personally explain sports as a physical activity in which people engage in, where two or more teams compete against each other for victory.
There are hundreds of different types of sports, but i am personally a fan of two, which are football and basketball, there are some in which the game can end as a tie, such as football, and here are in which there will be a tiebreaker because there must be a winner in the game, such as basketball, and some people might argue that the latter adds a little bit more fun and tension to games.
They are several different competitions in which professionals participate in,
SUCH AS:

  • Olympics
  • Wold cup
  • Nba
  • Nfl
  • IAAF
  • FIVB
    and many more.

There are a lot of of Sports in which people engage in, and my favorites are football, and basket ball.

Today i will be talking you through my views on the beautiful game called football.

In a realistic sense, people might look at football as 22 men running after a ball, and trying to kick it into a net,
but it is more than that.
There is so much passion that runs through the game of football, and that can never change. This can be seen in stadiums, homes, viewing centers, even on the faces of the players.
Football is always highly anticipated, and one of the reasons this is so, is because of rivalries, and hear are some of the biggest in world football:

  • Barcelona vs Real Madrid (El Classico)
  • Manchester United vs Liverpool
  • Inter Milan vs AC Milan
  • Arsenal vs Tottenham
  • Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund
    and others!

You can always see the determination on players and managers faces, you can feel the tension in the stadium, because this is what makes our heart tick, and it’s always so nerve cracking.

One of the strangest changes and adaptations in football history, is the fact that post lockdown, football matches were played behind closed doors. This changed the whole dynamic of what we know as football, and what makes us love the game, because the absence of the fans was felt, as the energy and atmosphere in football games reduced, but this didn’t stop the fun and entertainment.

This lasted for a year,(between March 2020, to May 2021), and know that the people are back, stadiums are back to their electrifying best.
Some of most iconic stadiums in world Football Include:

  • Camp nou, which is the best in the world in my opinion.
  • Santiago bernabeu
  • Old Trafford
  • Stamford Bridge
  • Anfield
  • Maracana

WHAT ELSE?

One of the reasons in which football is so beautiful, is the fact that anyone can play, regardless of your age.
In sports such as the NFL, there are certain rules, whereby you must be out of school for at least three years before you can get drafted, or even in the NBA where you must be a year removed from school(high school), before you can get drafted.
They are certain footballers such as Lionel Messi, Raheem Sterling, and Sergio Aguero, etc who made their debuts at 16, 17 and 15 respectively.
If it was another sport, it would be near impossible for them to have achieved such.

There are also several reasons in which football is enjoying, such as promotion and relegation.
Promotion occurs when teams finish in the top 2 or 3, depending on their league and they get promoted to a higher league. This is very emotional for fans and players, and for certain people, it is relished for a very long time.
Relegation is more of the opposite of promotion, and it is when teams finish last, bottom 2, or bottom 3, depending on which league they play, and they get moved to a lower league.
It can be very disheartening, as fans get to see their players and teams, in a less decorated league.

The transfer window is also an exciting period in football, because it is when players are eligible to move from one team to another, either by; transfer fee, or loans.
It occurs during the summer, (July-august) and the whole of January.
Some of the biggest transfers ever include:

  • Messi to PSG
  • Ronaldo to Manchester United
  • Neymar to PSG
  • Bale to Real Madrid
  • Suarez to Barcelona

There is always much to look forward to, and heavily anticipated.

There are hundreds of leagues in world football, but here are the two most popular, where they are sited, and the two biggest teams in each:

Premier LeagueEnglandBarcelona, Real Madrid
La LigaSpainManchester United, Liverpool

The Premier league and La Liga are arguably the 2 best leagues in the world, in England and Spain respectively, Mainly because they consist of some of the best teams(Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc) and some of the best players(Aguero, Benzema, Salah, Ronaldo, etc).
Its always a long road of entertainment, with all teams in both leagues, playing 38 games, with one winner.
There are also several accolades, and disappointments, such as everyone who finishes in the bottom 3 get relegated and this who finish in the top 4, qualify for the champions League.

Now that take me to the biggest club competition on the world! The Champions League. This is the league everyone wants to play in, because being a winner of the champions league is a very big achievement.
32 teams qualify, then it moves on to the round of 16, then quarter finals, semi finals, and the finals, in which there would be a winner.

Real Madrid are regarded as the King’s of the Champions League because the have won the most in history(13), a long way ahead of second place in AC Milan with 7.
I love watching this league, and i very rarely miss them on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
It keeps my energy high when we win, and low when we lose, and i’m pretty sure it is like that for every football fan.
Hopefully my team Barcelona can will their very crucial game again Bayern Munich, which would make us Qualify for the Round of 16.

It is almost impossible with that I talk about football, and I don’t talk about the World Cup.
This is the biggest international competition in the world it occurs every four years, where 32 countries battle it out for victory. The next one is next year during December and it’s going to be in Qatar. They are still in the qualifying rounds, and some teams have qualified already, and all and some are yet to.
The last world cup in 2018, was held in Russia, and the winners were France.
it was a very beautiful competition for me, because it was the very first one that I followed from beginning to end.

I wanted my country Nigeria to win, but we got knocked out quite early, and then i supported Argentina, because of my best player, Messi.
I surely can’t wait for the next one, and i hope Nigeria qualifies.

It’s been a pleasure to talk about my great hobby, sports and i hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you and see you soon!
