New rules in football ?

As the years pass always small changes happens in the rules in football. For example when i was young a team could make 2 substitutions during a match, later this became 3 and now is 5(due to covid).

The Royal Dutch Football Association will implement four incredible regulation changes in the second division starting 2023. These changes have already been tested in an amateur level since 2017.

Are you ready to learn what they think it will make football better?

  • First:
Instead of throw-ins the player can make a kick-in. The player can make a pass or start dribbling. The same applies to corners and free-kicks. They say that with this way matches will have more speed and less lost time. Arsene Wenger(former manager of Arsenal FC) who is FIFA's current Chief Head of Global Football Development agrees with this.

  • Second:
Yellow cards have different usage. If a player takes a yellow card he must go out of the field for 5 minutes.(this happens in water polo but not for 5 minutes).

  • Third:
Team managers can make as many substitution as they want during the match without stopping the time. They called them 'flying substitutions'.

  • Fourth:
The 'cherry on top'. No more 45+45 minutes per match. It will be 30+30 minutes. Whaaat?

These changes are radical. It becomes a total different sport. You can't make these changes in one night. Many will react to these changes, if not all. Do you agree with such extreme changes? Will FIFA let them do it?
