A THUMPING MERSEYSIDE VICTORY

WHAT A DAY!!!! It has been quite a while since I was this excited about a football game. Probably since we (Chelsea) last won the champions league trophy or something. Today, Manchester United went to Anfield in red-hot form, looking to capitalize on the poor run of games of Liverpool this season, but it was a completely different story.

Today's game was one with history. The rivalry between Man U and Liverpool is agelong and has delivered in recent times. Earlier today, the Red devils visited the famous Anfield to take on the embattled Liverpool team. Manchester United was on a four-game winning streak coming into today's game. Picking up silverware in the process to end a six years trophy drought at Old Trafford. Their opponent (Liverpool) were still a bit wobbly after a disastrous start to the season which saw them sit in the middle of the premier league table for a while. Manchester United were the firm favorite going into the game. The first few exchanges were in favor of Man U but as the game wore on, Liverpool gained momentum. Cody Gakpo opened the scoring a few minutes before half-time, then Darwin Nunez doubled it and on and on and on. Gakpo, Nunez, and Salah, all recorded a brace before Firminio rounded off what was an emphatic and historic win over United. The goals on display today were absolutely world-class, as a United defense that has been solid all season looked so easy to bypass. Also today, Mohammed Salah broke the Liverpool record to become the club's all-time Premier League scorer, with 129 goals, and doing it in much fewer games than the previous record holder. The Egyptian King is a club legend.
