City's Masterclass, Abysmal Blues - UCL ROUND UP

made with Canva

I have had my fair share of banter since yesterday. I have been avoiding my co-worker all day, as he keeps bringing up the painful memories of yesterday. What a shitty day it has been. I was looking forward to the champions league earlier this week but got jheartbroken yesterday. Tuesday's clash delivered though. It is really fascinating how much of an effect a football match can have on one's mood—speaking for myself this time. Well, let us dive into the order of the day.

Benfica Vs Internazionale (0-2)

Benfica were firm favorites going into this game. They won four of their six group-stage games coming into the quarterfinal, but Inter Milan had other ideas. A second-half goal from Barella and a late penalty from Romelu Sealed the advantage for Fillipe Nzaghi's men.

Man City Vs Bayern Munich (3-0)

This showpiece clash promised to be exciting, and it lived up to expectations. Man City took the game to Bayern Munich and ran riot against them. Erling Haaland cannot stop scoring at the moment. Bayern had a taste of their own medicine

Milan Vs Napoli (1-0)

Napoli looks like a shadow of themselves without their star striker. The Nigerian was ruled out of the game after sustaining an injury while on international duty. This makes it the second loss against Milan in this century. Spalleti would be hoping to have his forward back before the second leg.

Real Madrid Vs Chelsea (2-0)

Where do I even start. Another woeful performance from the blues saw them suffer another defeat in less than a week. This worrying performance from the blues continues, and they have Brighton at the weekend. They would be hopping to bounce back to winning ways.

Thank you for reading. Now we look forward to the second leg. Cheers.
