ENZO FERNANDEZ SCORES

After an absolutely abysmal season last year, Chelsea had to play a second-round tie against league two side, AFC Wimbledon. The Blues had an early scare as Robert Sanchez's foul gifted the visitors a nineteenth-minute penalty, which was smoothly converted. The blues looked to be lost for ideas before Noni Madueke won and converted a spot kick to settle the nerves. It was a game that you'd expect Chelsea to dominate and wrap up an emphatic win but it was anything but that. Albeit, the Blues had a large share of possession and created more chances, they still lacked that cutting edge in front of goal. Eleven minutes after his introduction, Enzo Fernandez scored his first goal for the club since arriving last summer at the bridge. It was all smiles for the Argentinian and all blues faithful, as he has been one of their standout performers since last season.

It was a similar story also for another PL team, as Everton also came from behind to qualify for the next round of the competition thanks to a goal from their new signing=, Beto and their big center forward, Danjuma. Burnley eased passed Forest with a 1-0 win while Sheffield was knocked out by Lincokn CVity. Crazy Upset. Thank you for reading. See you Saturday.
