Baseball - SF Giants Run-Line - 20th June

Hello all,

Strategy Summary

So to recap on what I'm doing with this betting strategy:

  • Using the run-line market to back the SF Giants to win a game.
  • This will generally mean a -1.5 run-line bet meaning the Giants will need to win by at least 2 runs to give a successful bet.
  • Occassionally, and usually dependent on a) the opposition, and/or b) odds offered by my bookie I'll flip it to a +1.5 run-line bet, meaning the Giants can either lose by 1 run, or win the game to give a winning bet.
  • Initially, at least, amount staked will be a modest £0.10 GBP - so this is not a strategy to rake in huge amounts, but hopefully will bring us a profit by the end of the season.
Yesterday's Summary - 13th June
The Game

The third and final game of this series against the Pirates started well for the Giants, scoring 2 runs in the first inning. However, they were then held scoreless until the ninth inning, with Thairo Estrada hitting a game tying homer, only for the Pirates to swat a homer of their own to win the game 4-3.

Alex Cobb, returning from IL, took the mound and had an encouraging four inning stint, despite giving up two home runs. He allowed just four hits, walked one, striking out two. Two more home runs followed, one off Cobb's reliever Sam Long, and that ninth inning game winner against Tyler Rogers, who got tagged with the loss to take his record to 0-3, 5.34 ERA
