Our August duck has finally been broken, with a superb run from Maggie's Delight. Leading fot the first mile, until an injection of pace from the eventual second found our selection relegated to second place and 8 lengths behind. With half a mile still to run Richard Kingscote in the saddle injected some pace of his own and began closing the gap. At 3f out he'd chased down the leader and moved to retake the lead, pushing on again at 2f out then forging clear inside the last furlong, finishing an impressive 14 lengths clear at the line.

A winner at last for our tipster snaps his 9 race losing streak. Garry Owen had also had a winner, and at better odds, so the lead at the top shrinks slightly to £19.03.
