Race Puigpunyent: July 31 2022

avatar

Today we ran the popular competition in Puigpunyent with the objective for my daughter to be at the top3 women for the short distance (2 rounds of 1,8km, starting with almost 1km uphill) and I would continue for another 2 rounds to have some more kilometers. Mission accomplished. 15'52" and a second place, about 20" quicker than last year and she has suffered a lot less. #AliveAndThriving #alive

Thanks. The 10K steps were apart from the running part, since I don't carry my mobile with me while running. I know, I'm actually missing the biggest part of my steps in Actifit because of this, and that about 4 times per week, but as long as @actifit is not making an integration with Strava or Garmin, there's nothing I can do about it... !LUV

Double congratulations then my friend, you had a very active @actifit day!!🤗
On long hikes in the Summer I have a Velcro iPhone pouch that I can strap on my ankle so my phone stays with me....maybe that would work for you runs.
Take care!!😀

On your ankl??? I've got such a velcro for on my arm but it molests me when running. I would definitely not use it in a race, I've been trying it in a training session, but it must be a slow one, and one where I'm not excessively sweating... All in all I don't have a comfortable feeling with a phone on my arm. !PIZZA

Yeah, but buying a watch just for this?.... I've got a Garmin Forerunner now. Would prefer to be able to use this for everything... !CTP
A good week I'll definitely have, since I left on holidays yesterday! Thanks!

That's what I call having an eye for detail !LOL
Indeed she isn't wearing shoes any more, but she definitely has been running with shoes. She ran at about 4'/km, almost as quick as I'm running generally and almost definitely quicker than that I've been running last Sunday... I can't imagine someone doing this on flipflops... Thanks for your !love -ly comment.

Congratulations for your daughter for winning second place! 🤗

On the picture, she's way younger than all the people near her. 😅

It's not only at the picture that she's younger !LOL
I mean she's about 20 years younger than the first and over 30 years younger than the third !CTP

I wonder if size has something to do with being faster (or slower) in running. 🤔 You are the much more knowledgeable in exercising here! 😅

Thanks for the LOL and the !CTP! 😀

Like in most sports people tend to improve till they're between 25 and 30. I mean for running that would be 25 for sprinters and 30 for people running longer distances (for marathon I would say 35 years) Afterwards the prestation curve goes downwards. At least when that person would be training in the same conditions and at the same intensity. So don't get me wrong: one could still improve after being 30 years old and life doesn't stop at 40 or 50. !LOL What's for sure: When getting older one needs to do more every year to get to the same results... She's only 11 years old, so she still has got a long time to improve !CTP
About size: Especially in the shorter distances, length and muscles (and - less - kilos) do matter.
