Walking to dinner. No rush.

Market square. Three goats in bronze.

Still watching. Still named.

Places keep nicknames longer than people do.

We were sand rabbits. Here: goats. Somewhere else: something else.

As children, we carried those names without thinking.

They stick. Like paths. Like shortcuts through memory.

I walk past with friends now. Different distance. Same ground.

Some steps don’t count anymore.

They just bring things back.
