The Stars are looking imperious at the moment but it would be fair to say that we haven't seen the real extent of the hitting power they have in their line-up largely because their bowlers have been doing such a good job of limiting the opposition to below-par scores that the batsmen can just sit in and take their time in a low-risk chase.

That was certainly the case just last week when these 2 met in the reverse fixture and the Thunder were limited to a manageable 142 from their 20 overs. The top 3 of the Thunder have looked pretty good this year but it's the lack of hitting power in the later order that has cost them on a couple of occasions. The talent in the form of Daniel Sams and Chris Morris is there but they are yet to fire this season.

The Thunder's bowlers will be licking their wounds after the assault that Tom Banton launched on them in the rain-affected match against the Heat. That being said I would image their triumvirate of spinners in Green, Nair and Cook will enjoy the slower surface of the MCG as will the Stars slower bowlers in Lamichane, Zampa and Maxwell and as the scores from the previous matches suggest, baring a display of indisciplined bowling or magnificent batting this is not likely to be a particularly high-scoring affair.
