How we're starting the cycling season this year
Greetings friends, today I've been organizing my spring photo folders, and I paid special attention to photos taken during bike rides. I prepared these photos and combined them into one post, and it turned out to be a story about the beginning of the bicycling season in our city.
We can have a wide variety of spring weather. A lot depends on the winter. If the winter was snowy, the snow melts in spring for a very long time, outside the city snow lies even in April. If the winter was relatively warm, as this year, the snow melts quickly and in mid-March you can start the cycling season. In March, the days are noticeably longer, the sun shines brightly and the air seems especially clear. Bare tree branches cast contrasting shadows. Temperatures are usually a little above freezing, around + 5, but there are also warm days.
March is not quite cycling month. Outside the city, there is either still snow, or the snow has already melted, but it is very wet. In the city, some cyclists ride all year round, even in winter, but it's a controversial pleasure even if the snow is completely removed from the streets. To protect the streets from icing they use a mixture of sand and special technical salt, this mixture has a very bad effect on the technical condition of the bike. Therefore, it is better to wait until April, when the frost is over and the streets are cleaned of this mixture.
In April, fresh grass and primroses begin to appear. Buds begin to swell on trees and at the end of the month the first leaves appear. One April day I took a bike ride along the Tarakanivka River. This river has now been piped and hidden underground for almost its entire length, and only the far side of the riverbed is left free. The far section on the bank of this river is a raw piece of land next to an industrial site. I was interested in the drawing of a dog on the round concrete bollard in the middle of this plot. This drawing is hidden by tall grass in the summer and covered by snow in the winter, but it is perfectly visible in the spring.
The weather in April is unpredictable, sometimes you go for a walk in shorts and a t-shirt, and the next day you have to put on a warm jacket. Scooter season starts in April, but you can ride scooters not every day - in bad weather services block the possibility of renting a scooter.
At the end of April and the beginning of May, you can already make fairly regular bike rides. On the way I pay attention to urban details and sometimes stop to take a picture of interesting graffiti. The text near the arrow on the wall reads, “Theater Arts Center. Entrance is free.” In May, the apple trees, cherry trees, and chestnuts begin to bloom. We have an omen “Cherry blossoms bloom to cold weather”, and usually this omen comes true. The beginning of May is sometimes really cold. It is important to remember to bring warm clothes to keep warm while cycling.

Thank you very much!
Bicycle is a very beautiful vehicle. When I was a child, I used to go to school by bicycle. It makes our journey easier. Cycling is a physical exercise.
I love biking, thank you so much!
